What is the soul within him? Where does it come from and why does it come into this body, which is a foul drop that is here today and in the grave tomorrow? To know the world one is in, and for what the world will be corrected, to gaze upon the sublime secrets of the Upper World, and to know one’s Master. All the friends in Rashbi’s time had love of soul and love of spirit among them. This is why in his generation, the secrets of Torah were revealed. Rabbi Shimon would say, “All the friends who do not love each other cause themselves to stray from the right path.” Moreover, they put a blemish in the Torah, since there is love, brotherhood, and truth in the Torah. Abraham loved Isaac; Isaac loved Abraham; and they were embraced. And they were both gripped Jacob with love and brotherhood and were giving their spirits in one another. The friends should be like them and not blemish them, for if love is lacking in them they will blemish their value above, that is, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, which are HGT.

You should not keep growing, while experiencing increasing suffering, labor pains. The labor pains you cause yourself are enough. Why? Because you are the one causing them, controlling them, realizing and recognizing them. Thus, you understand everything that happens to you and for this reason you do not have to enter the “punishment” and “sorrow” process, as well as this labor pains process, all misfortunes and blows are being covered by your actual understanding of the process. The blows you receive turn into questions like “why wasn’t I born yet?”, and this happens instead of wars and other cataclysms, that happen in still, vegetative, and animate nature. You would have had to survive all misfortunes in at the still, vegetative, and animate levels instead of surviving one small misfortune at a “speaking” level. Do you understand? This means that your consciousness is making a billion time smaller effort way more effective.

Question: Does this mean that the entire work is accomplished through internal analysis?

This is exactly right; the entire work is done through the internal analysis.

Question: So, where is the group here?

But you need to connect with them and see what relationship you are having with them. What is the internal analysis that you perform based on? It is based on unity. It is clear that we will not unite. Do you think that we will unite in the desert? Only if a scream appears that would cause the labor!
Question: Right now not only am I unable to unite, but I am even unable to see their faces? So, how can you say that you are ready for the labor?
Question: I feel that I am approaching the Pharaoh, I simply see him already!
Just a moment, this is not enough. There should be Moses along with the Creator opposite Pharaoh. There should be a combination including Pharaoh, as well as the Creator and Moses.
Question: The will to start loving?
How do you want to be born? To be born means running away to the Creator from the Pharaoh, from one’s supremacy to that of the other one.
Question: I do not understand what is missing:
Do you have the desire to run away into the Creator’s supremacy?
Question: Let him take me and do whatever he wants with me. He does this to me anyway.
What does “take” mean? Anyone can say that.
Question: I am ready to do whatever is demanded of me, everything He will tell me to do, but I do not know what is actually demanded of me?
Then you need to unite with your friends.
Question: What does “uniting with friends” mean?
This means you need to make them love you and you need to make yourself love them.
Question: How can I make someone do that, when I am generally…when I lack…?
Have you ever tired to do that?
Question: I am trying.
This is exactly what everybody says. Just understand, the attainment adds such might to a small knowledge, that we can reach the state of spiritual birth quickly and we can also save on suffering, this is what the entire Wisdom of Kabbalah is all about.

Question: How can I waken the group before the desert congress?
You should start afar, you should try to work with others, not with the group, and then invite them to play football, invite them to some physical activity. Start “awakening from afar”, “away from the soul” and start getting closer to the internal by means of such activities, while answering the “why, what for” question, etc. This is what I recommend.

I feel our mistake is in the fact that every one of you is sleeping, napping, despairing and this will naturally go on until all of you feel that every one here should depend on another one and think about the other one. We can only reach correct hissaron if every one of you realizes that his hissaron depends on that of the other person. You think of a hissaron in an individual personal form, not in the general one. Every one of you thinks about increasing his personal hissaron and this is not right. You cannot increase it and think about it, you cannot do anything with it; you will simply fall into a nap. You will start thinking that everything will work out with time; that you will advance somehow, because of the thought of creation. One will definitely make such conclusion if he only thinks of himself, while only being within himself.

One is unable to reach the state of even the smallest spiritual attainment on his own, because this is completely opposite to his nature; it is thousand light-years away from him. It is possible to make a real breakthrough over the gap that separates us from the spiritual, but it depends on the group, on the way we play. So far I do not see the game that I cannot get out from, because my friends keep supplying me with it all the time, showing that I am constantly facing the same picture that they work with me all together. Nothing will help me, if they won’t be working with me all together. “A hero cannot be won over by force”. The Creator can only be invited by means of the group. You should think in this direction and make a “theatre” out of that. All of you should sit together and think how you can create the game that would be played by everybody. The one who does not want to play should leave this place. Everyone should play that each one of you vouches for another, you should play mutuality, the importance and the need for each other, the fact that all of you are in need of each and every single person here. You will not be able to break through without that. If you start playing this game and if you face certain obstacles, while doing that, than we can go to the desert. Then we would have something to go with, meaning the kli, that suffers from the fact that it is unable to unite, be prepared already.

Question: The desert congress is going to happen soon and we have several questions about that.
I do not know if there will be a congress. You are preparing this congress, but I do not know whether you are preparing yourselves as well. It will happen if there is correct hissaron, but if you are only going to prepare a good meal, it is not a congress.

Question: This is exactly what the question is about. How can we build the hissaron correctly, while we await this congress?

I do not know what you are going there for. Do you lack something or is this just a trip? I do not know that, but this should be very serious. I am telling you that this should all happen under a lot of pressure, almost to the point of bleeding. As the word tears (dmaot) was formed from the world blood (dam).

Question: What should we be thinking about during the Zohar reading? How can we concentrate on one simple thought?

You should determine every time within a day what it is worth for you to ask about. For example one has 20 requests of all kinds, let him chose one, the most important of them, and check whether this one request includes all others. I mean it should not just be one request out of 20, when remaining 19 ones are put aside, no. It is like an individual approaches the King and he must formulate one request to the King, and that request should include all the rest of his requests. One should be sure that, upon making this one request, he would no longer lack anything. You get out there once with one request and you get completely satisfied with the responce you receive to it. Otherwise it is a flaw in the King’s perfection. If you come to Him with many questions, this is the sign that you are like a small child. Have you ever taken a child into a toy store? Did you notice how the child is simply getting crazy, because he does not know what to ask for? He wants everything, and you have no right to approach the King if you are like this child. If you just have one request, that is fine, but your request should not just be good for this very moment, because you are placed within the time frames. You should be convinced that you would definitely not ask for anything else any more! You have checked everything and you are sure that this is really so. You have 24 hours until the Zohar lesson tomorrow to write down this request and to check it. Do this for several days, check yourself. It is advisable to do this for the rest of your life and you should change your request if there is a necessity in doing it. You will get the opportunity of studying yourself, while observing those changes, this is what the entire Wisdom of Kabbalah is all about, perception of reality, the Creator, by means of getting to know yourself.

Question: How can I play the bestowal game internally?

You should exert efforts internally, not play. You should try to really practically be in the state of bestowal. You should treat your friends as the greatest people in their generation all the time. We should work, and our work is in the fact that we act against our will. I should constantly exert efforts and do that in an orderly and creative manner. I do not have the Creator, meaning I have no image to do that. There is no power called “the Creator”. If you imagine this power, than it is an idol. You only have one thing, the way to put yourself in correct position toward the group. There is nothing else. If you run away from that, you will remain in the air. I am not going to persuade you, just see what the kabbalists write. Try to do that and we will talk tomorrow.

We should first of all divide very state in two parts, the way it is mentioned in the article “There is None Else Besides Him”. I receive everything from above and I should prepare to analyze everything objectively, meaning, everything comes from the Creator. On the one hand, I do not want to spoil anything with my kelim, my heart, and my thoughts. One the other hand, it is clear to me that there is nothing for me to feel without my kelim. So, what am I to do with that? This can be measured by comparing feelings and intentions or yesterday’s state to today’s one. And that should be done with regards to a certain standard, the group. To accomplish that I should try to merge with the common group spirit, discover it and with regards to this spirit I should check whether I feel good or bad, and how am I determining this “good” feeling and then go on accordingly. This, actually, is the analysis, demanding the light that returns to the source through the group. Trying to receive such explanation, that would enable me to feel the opposite state and doing that through the group. What does the opposite mean? Primarily I am trying to justify the Creator even when I experience a bad state and then I am trying to rise into a good state while having the same intentions. Why? Because this way my properties are similar to that of the Creator, because His goal is to be good and to do good.

The only thing for my advancement that I can do it getting under the group’s influence.

We can check where we are placed with regards to our body, as Rabash writes in article 108 from the “Shamati”: “If you leave me one day, I will leave you two.” We can only count steps with respect to this work. Wes study that our body is unable to perform even the smallest movement without getting pleasure out of it; because this pleasure gives the fuel, the energy to it. So, how can we make this body do anything? Without deriving pleasure out of something the brain makes no calculations, the desire performs no internal movements, and the body does not move. All this is the result of the fact that the desire must face the filing; this is how everything is organized.

How can we perform the movements that do not bring filing to the will to receive, what is called “LiShma”? We cannot. How can we approach the state of LiShma? We can only do that by means of lies or by means of influence of our environment, making use of envy, respect, pride, “respect and envy pull an individual out of the world” and they give egoistic filings to the body, so that it has no way out and it will start advancing.

Changes can only occur on account of the light that returns to the source. This light comes to us even when we want to derive pleasure out of our actions, as it is clear that otherwise we won’t be able to do anything. But if we still want to do something without feeling the pleasure, than the light that returns to the source comes to us and we do that. Such is the conditions: “If you leave me one day I will leave you two”.

What does that mean? It is like our saying: “I have revealed two separate things in the process of revealing a completely different one.” Such are the conditions of creating the kli. When on is intentionally given a chance of making a mistake and then he has to work at this matter for two days. This means that one leaves the level he was on and falls, sins, but he descends to a worse level. Not “for the sake of bestowal”, the level he was at, but “for the sake of reception”, to “minus two” steps. When he is at the level of “plus two” steps and ascend to it gradually, he falls to a “minus three” and then gradually ascends to a “plus three” level. This is the way we advance. Thus, all the actions that make us fall and then we have to work two times harder are to our benefit.

The question is how one doesn’t love the power to overcome when he does not see an award? What is one to do then? Each time one should look for a higher award and keep tuning more and more off from his material life. He should measure his award toward others, to what extent he is able to work, when others receive. He works and others receive. This is how one measures his advancement.

One can receive the energy for his work from the fact that others come and get happy. For example, when I hear about a congress, I feel glad and I look forward to three days of pleasure, unity, songs and dances. This makes me feel good. At the congress I derive pleasure from the unity, songs, dances, lectures, everything.

Would I go to the congress at all if I did not feel this pleasure? Would I come to the congress if I were to suffer there? Is it important for me to be along with everyone else , even thought I suffer, or I am being together with them out of desperation, because I cannot run away, because I won’t be pleased with what others are going to say about me if I run away? I curse this congress and I am there because I have to be there? Or I am there to be pleased from the fact that everyone is united together? Perhaps I feel that this makes me advance somehow and that I will benefit from this sometime. Perhaps I acquire infinity, perfection, and something that is higher this world and this is the reason it is beneficial for me to invest in it? Do I agree to suffer in the name of the world of the future, even though I derive no pleasure out of it? Do I either refuse this world for the sake of the future one, or do I refuse the future world for the sake of deriving pleasure in this one? What am I to do with that? There are lots of calculations here.

If people come and derive pleasure out of everything, that is good as well, but in this case they should realize that they are getting the pleasure. The spiritual is measured separately from the ego, after the shortening, upon “awakening” in the groups. It only happens if I derive pleasure from merging with others, from my love to them, from the action itself, that I feel great pleasure in all my kelim and that I refuse them. Now, after such descend, when I desire nothing from this pleasure, and when I even suffer from it, when I hater the group, my friends, songs, and dancing, how can I treat all this the way I used to do prior to this descend and how can I go on? I should do that because I please the Creator and my friends by going on.

We are now waiting for the desert congress, can we measure our advancement? I get no personal benefit from coming here, I only calculate for everyone together. Thus, I do not care what I feel, whether I feel good or bad by doing that, but I rise above it. What is important for me is expecting something good from this congress, good results, because all of us together will reach the revelation. Perhaps, even not all together, but just me alone and they do not matter to me, but I can only accomplish that with their assistance. Perhaps they will experience the revelation and I won’t even feel anything and then I would have no reason to be proud. Or I am doing that for the Creator’s sake, and He won’t even find out about my participation in this action, while I won’t find out about my contribution to the result.

How can we tune off from various kelim of ours, so that we know nothing and only have the chance to exert efforts without any additional fuel, so that all our efforts become an award for us? If we are capable of that, than there is a sense in having a desert congress.

From the lesson based on article 108 from the book “Shamati”: “if you leave me one day I will leave you two”

Everyone here should continue Baal haSulam’s Mission.

We must try to create such environment that would awaken us toward advancement on our own, so that we won’t cling to the past and so that we won’t calm down thinking that everything is fine.

Because if a person is not searching, if he is not unhappy with his spiritual life, and if he is does not receive the pressure from the group and the teacher, such person is unable to advance. One can perceive this pressure as either good or bad, but he should evaluate it with regards to what he does for the Creator’s sake. We should realize that any pressure that leads us to advancement, to the analysis, helps us, and it does not matter whether or this pressure pleases our ego.

Our problem is that we do not care about creating the hissaron. It is not pleasant, it is a burden, but no advancement is possible without it. We should crate the hissaron toward advancement ourselves, like babies who receive it naturally. We do not need anything else, this is the start of our advancement, and otherwise I will passively wait like the 99%. You should only care about that, there is nothing else to care about. All the rest, meaning this entire world that you imagine awakening, and your friends, and the group, and the Creator, all this is inside, inside of your desire. You should only organize it, so that you have the hisaron, and you should use all the means you have to do that. You are given a chance every moment.

We should realize that if we want to advance, if we want to grow up, instead of remaining small children, than we must have an awakening. Awakening toward the goal is unpleasant, thus, it should be perceived above reason and we should realize that we are no longer babies that are pushed by nature to put the lego parts together. We should receive this strength from our studies and from our environment. If I am unable to come to the lesson with a demand, I am coming there with a negative charge, because I wasn’t able to get the demand before, thus, I am asking now to be given this strength. However, if people do not feel pressured to unite, to advance toward perfection, if they have claims to the teacher, to the group, than they do not feel the reason to come here. If there is no such pressure, people come five minutes prior to the lesson, which is not bad as well, but it is for the still level. One should come with a demand, with what he couldn’t accomplish yesterday, one should come with a “broken heart” and then one should demand the strength.

What does mutual guarantee mean? Mutual guarantee is the relationship among us that is called “bestowal”. When I vouch for everybody, I want to be responsible for all of them, I want to be instead of them, I want to bestow to them as much as I should bestow. Then I will see that everything depends on me and that I am responsible for them receiving everything then need, meaning the demand to the upper light. And I want them to receive that, as a mother wants something for her baby. I am going to bestow them this way. What does my guarantee for them mean? What does it mean that I feel them placed inside of me, that they depend on me? I feel that I create this entire kli and that this kli depends on mea and, thus, I can become a guarantor. This is the way each person should feel and understand from his will to receive, from his will, one should feel that in reality everyone in the group depends on him. And this is really so. Then one can be a guarantor, when he assumes responsibility for caring about them, about their spiritual well-being, and that he will only live to do that.

If he is unable to do that, he should request and demand help from the upper light? Of course he is unable to do that, because he does not know what will happen to him the next moment. The upper light reveals a chain of reshimot in him, and, thus, he needs it in order to work with this light. He demands that the upper light reveals next reshimot in the same direction to increase the mutual guarantee. And then it is called “Israel, the Torah, and the Creator are one”, when there is a desire to concentrate both efforts and the result of those efforts together.

It is sorrowfully to realize that the external actions lock us inside thatwe are unable to succumb to internal reasons. We can only be influenced by a trip to the desert that is 20 kilometers away from here along with being alone there. It is a real influence. But can’t we really do that another way? Do we really need all this theatre? Same thing happened with the silent Shabbat. We have only change the external mutual actions at our meals a little and we have already felt the change. Why do we need such harsh external things to achieve this? Is it just because we are unable to be impressed in our thoughts from something internal? Can we only be impressed by our actions? Does it only happen when we keep silent, drive, walk, dance together? Do internal actions not exist inside of us? We should still think why we cannot do that another way. What is the connection between me and the place I sit at, whether it is here or there, among the camels? Do I really have to be there, in the tent keeping silence? Can’t I be silent here? Are we mystics who have to be sited in a special pose on a hill and breathe in a special way? In such case we receive a certain psychological impression, but not the spiritual one. I do not neglect all that, but I want you to have another kind of demand and there is no reason to go to the desert if you do not have it, as then things will get even worse.

When we went to the desert last time, we did not think that we would receive such feeling by doing that. We thought that we would unite in our thoughts and intentions there, far from various obstacles. The problem is that we are going there again, because we think that it is the geographical place that matters. This is really external now. Last time we thought that our thoughts should unite and we ran away from all obstacles. And now it is the actual place we associate our hopes with, because now we have acquired the connection to the place that gave us an impression. There should be an incomparably stronger effort in order to rise to the next level, while being at the same place. The hissaron should already be at another level that is higher. It should not be bigger or smaller, it should be significantly different.

One should prepare his half. What does “either my half of that of the Creator” mean? How can that be? I even need Him when I prepare my kli, so that I can prepare it. My half is in noticing and revealing the right hissaron every time. But I do not even have the hissaron to reveal it. Where is the correct hissaron, so that I can reveal the true reality? I imagine some live, that does not exist at all, the one that I would remember as a dream. How can I want to wake up from this dream on my own, how can I really accomplish that? I do not need anything else besides this readiness. I cannot receive this entire shining world outside of my dream, because I should create the hissaron for receiving it.

The spirituality only appears in accordance with your efforts to want to receive the property of bestowal and with whether you are planning to receive it.

Of course you are glad to get that, but you should have a huge hissaron to do it. If you are not going to have it, you will receive nothing. This means that the spiritual is joy, and if there is no joy, it means that this is the klipa. If one is not engaged in dissemination or another external business on his path toward the spiritual, than this is no spiritual. In this case he is eaten by the klipa. How can one be happy upon refusing everything, getting outside of himself, being left without anything? It is possible if such person is being influenced by the upper lights. But before that, one should be influenced by the environment that attaches such importance to bestowal and detachment from one’s ego that the person gets happy.

“An Eye of a Needle” is not an Opening, Even Thought we Put it this Way. It is the readiness to work, the readiness to accept everything that comes from above. “The eye of a needle” is first of all the needle itself, ant it is not because it has a small opening, but because I am ready for everything that the Upper One does to me. Because each action of His is very painful, it is opposite to the will to receive. Thus, you should advance very slowly. One give the light the chance to influence him, only if one is ready for it in some way, meaning one is ready to get outside of him and to get closer to others. This is the reason one is given the group, so that he could perceive others in some way. Then the light will influence him, and if the person feels that he is able to tolerate that, than this increasing detachment from himself ascends him.

I totally depend on the light, but how do I receive it? It should do everything for me, it should reveal the evil, get me to all kinds of states until I correct, etc. I hear all the time that I need to advance in the spiritual and that only this light is capable of making changes in me. There is no other power that is capable of doing anything.

For Parents and Children

«The Second Thread»

From M. Laitman Speech during Preparation for the lesson

Everyone experience awakening of the point in his heart once in his life, perhaps even several times. Sometimes he thinks that he is just devastated, sometimes he just feels bad. Sometimes he thinks that things will settle down for various material reasons, sometimes even for family-related reasons. He does not realize that this way the point in his heart, the beginning of his soul is being awakened in him, that he the end of the rope that leads to revelation of love is being thrown to him in such manner.

The World Kli reads passages before sleep with great joy and inspiration. Unity!

The Importance of Preparation before Sleep

Even though one gets up every morning to go to the lesson and comes there in a mixed state and it is difficult for him to concentrate and wake up and it seems that he is tired and sleepy, this is not real fatigue. Sometimes an individual is tired, but he feels as if he lacks nothing and is ready to attack…We must realize that preparation time is most important. One wakes himself up and wakes up his entire day at the time of the preparation, it is not the light that awakens him, because he prepares his kelim that come before the light.

From the brochure “Preparation and Attack”

Friday, January 20, 2012

The MAN raised by the righteous in order to please the Creator, for the upper good, is called “renewed words of the Torah”. They are renewed by means of the upper zivug and ZON receive new mochin due to that, until they get worthy of “honoring the heaven and founding the Earth”. And they become the Creator’s companions, as “the sky and the Earth” are renewed by means of their words.

                                                                                            «Zohar», Introduction, par. 68

Saturday, January 21, 2012

…if we have no joy while we are keeping the commandments of the Creator, then if one aims in order to bestow, it is not considered equivalence of form because one can only be glad where there is pleasure. It turns out that if he has no delight and pleasure in giving to the Creator, it is still not regarded as equivalence of form, that he has room to receive the upper abundance, since he is still lacking the pleasure that the Creator has while giving to the creatures.

It therefore follows that the whole basis upon which we can receive delight and pleasure, and which is permitted for us to enjoy—and is even mandatory—is to enjoy an act of bestowal. Thus, there is one point we should work on— appreciation of spirituality. This is expressed in paying attention to whom I turn, with whom I speak, whose commandments I am keeping, and whose laws I am learning, meaning in seeking advice concerning how to appreciate the Giver of the Torah.

Rabash, article «The Agenda of the Assembly-2».

Sunday, January 22, 2012

Merging with the group during preparation means that I accept everyone as inseparable from me, a 100% partner on the path with everything he has, as if we are one whole. Let us put it this way, it is like all his all internal part and all my internal part, all his desires and all my desires, all his plans and all my plans, everything we have in our lives have now united in one man. Let us unite all this and see what happens. If I come to the state of such feeling, this will be enough for the unity to be formed inside of it, in this kli. The feeling of unity leads to the feeling of fullness, because the fullness is the light that has created this unified kli. If we come to the state of this one kli, even to a small extent, in there we will feel the light that has created and is supporting this kli.

From Article of the Day January 2, 2008 .

Monday, January 23, 2012

The one who wants to fulfill the Creator’s desires must cancel his own desires compared to those of the Creator. He must constantly care about feeling of the greatness of the Creator that gives him the strength to prefer the Creator’s desire to his own personal one, an egoistic desire. The more one believes in the greatness of the Creator and His power, the easier it is for him to fulfill His desires. Thus, one must concentrate all this efforts on deepening his feeling of the greatness of the Creator.

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Not all who wish to take the Lord may come and take, since it is against man’s nature, who was created with a will to receive, which is self love. This is why we need the righteous of the generation. When a person clings to a genuine Rav, whose only wish is to do good deeds, but one feels that he cannot do good deeds, that the aim will be to bestow contentment upon the Creator, by cleaving to a real Rav and wanting the Rav’s fondness, he does things that his Rav likes, and hates the things his Rav hates. Then he can have Dvekut with his Rav and receive his Rav’s powers, even that which he does not have from birth. This is the meaning of planting the righteous in each generation.

Shamati, article 99 “He Did not Say Wicked or Righteous”

One should believe that there are things more valuable and important than those the receiver can even imagine. It is said in the Introductions: ”All the lower world in connection to the upper world is like a mustard grain in connection to the world.” Thus, everything the upper one bestows, when it is said: ”a big or a small bestowal”, does not depend on him, it depends on the lower one’s readiness. The lower one receives as much as his qualities coincide with those of the upper one’s bestowal. This means that if the lower one is capable of creating the intention for a big bestowal, the big bestowal.
he receives.
And here there is no difference between a big Mitzva and a small Mitzva. That is, the Creator derives pleasure even from the smallest act that is done for Him. Afterwards there is a result, which is the main goal that one should see to. In other words, a person should feel delight and pleasure in causing contentment to his Maker. This is the main emphasis of the work, and this is called “serve the Lord with gladness.” This should be the reward for one’s work, to receive delight and pleasure in having been rewarded with delighting the Creator.

Question: What is the best way to work in the state of hiding?

You should realized that the hiding is beneficial for us and that everything we receive each moment is beneficial for us as well, that the Creator is pushing us and creating good conditions for us. We should not complain about anything, besides the absence of correct intention, hissaron, because it is the hissaron, not the filling that the light brings to us. Our work consists of constantly developing our hissaron. The abundance is there, it exists, and you should only work at your hissaron all the time in order to receive this abundance. You do not have to ask for abundance, you are welcome to take it; you simply do not have the kli to receive it. Thus, it is the kli you should ask about. You should constantly make sure that your hissaron is sharper, more purposeful; the hissaron is the only thing you should watch.
